Job Market
March 28th, 2008 1:36 PM

A report was release this week suggesting that the US job market will not improve until the 3rd or 4th quarter.

In the last 3 months, help-wanted advertising declined in seven of the nine regions in the United States. Steepest Declines occurred in the East South Central US, Pacific, and New England regions.

Based on monthly help-wanted, print-advertising volume in 51 U.S. newspapers, and because ad volume has proven to be sensitive to labor market conditions, the Help-Wanted Advertising Index provides a gauge of change in the local, regional and national supply of jobs.

With the combination of Job Loss, Real Estate Declines, and Lack of Mortgage products, 2008 could provide some rough times. Maybe what we need is a new President to spark enthusiasm back into the markets.
